Rishi Kaashyap, an alumni of TVS Academy (Hosur, India), wrote this letter to his 16-year-old self:
“ Dream big! It is when life starts to unveil itself and at the outset imagine yourself to have become the best person you can think of in the next 10 years. Draw a picture of then and now and with the belief that the changes you want are coming close, do something everyday that takes you closer to your dream.
Plan to plan. Never procrastinate. Set short term goals and achieve them. Establish your credibility in subtle ways, earn your parents’ trust. Talk to them and convince them to be part of your dream.
Make good friends. Friends who share your dreams and beliefs. Together, work towards achieving your dream. As a team, tie yourself up with a cord, mutual trust, and determination. Its tougher to scale a peak alone. Climb the mountain as a team and if one falls behind, this cord will prevent him/her from total failure. The spirit of such a team will make problems seem minuscule and will help you believe your own self.
If you want to develop your ego, surround yourself with people who look up to you. If you want to develop yourself, surround yourself with people you look up to.
Sculpt yourself. Choose to be honest, optimistic, cheerful, brave, and helpful. like the sun, radiate these positive traits to those around you. Smile a little. Make your happiness infectious.”
